The house was built in 1871 and it shows in the right places: thick walls, high ceilings, and a coolness that is worth gold in August. No two rooms are alike — that, too, is on purpose.

The important things are in every room: the quiet, the bed, and a shower with real water. The rest changes with each one — the iron grille, the beam, the balcony over the orange tree.

There is no queue at a desk and no envelope full of rules. The house works like this:

We'll be waiting with the door open and something cold. The paperwork takes a minute; the patio takes the rest of the day.

Shade at siesta time, the roof terrace as evening falls. The fountain never closes.

Under the orange tree, until eleven. The bread comes from the corner bakery; the oranges, from the tree in front of you.

Flexible check-in
From three to ten at night, and later is fine if you let us know. Nobody gets left in the street.
The quarter is pedestrian
San Basilio is all stone lanes: the car stays at the Alcázar car park, five minutes' walk away.
Children and cots
Very welcome. A cot is free if you tell us when booking; the patio is everyone's sitting room.
In August, siesta
From three to six the house lowers its voice — the desk included. The site stays on duty; that is what it is for.
